Overcoming reading challenges
 
The problem: Parents came because the child is autistic and a grade level behind in reading.
 
My assessment: The student struggled with blended sounds and maintaining focus while reading.
 
My lesson plan: I taught the student essential social skills, including active listening and recognizing when to take breaks or ask questions. These skills translated seamlessly to his reading, enabling him to quickly master blended sounds and improve his overall behavior, as noted by his parents.
Building confidence in math
 
The problem: Student had low grades in all areas of math and had difficulty focusing.
 
My assessment: The student is bright but lacks self-esteem and motivation.
 
My lesson plan: I encouraged the student by relating math concepts to his passion for fishing and showcasing his natural math skills. This approach increased his interest in math and his grades have moved from all 1s to 2s within 3 months.
Boosting writing skills
The problem: The student struggled with writing, including persuasive essays and book reports.
 
My assessment: The student had disorganized thoughts and poor comprehension due to lack of understanding of basic grammar.
 
My lesson plan: Starting with oral narration exercises, I built her understanding of sentence structure and thought organization. Progressing from speaking to writing, I gradually introduced higher-level reading material, improving comprehension. Within a month, her reading skills reached her current grade level.

I’m Sasha Gooray, a christian, faith-driven, Holy Spirit led, Academic Coach & Tutor, dedicated to transforming young learners into confident, successful individuals —helping them step into their true identity in Christ. Through a dynamic blend of personalized academic goals with social and life skills based on biblical principles, I make learning an exciting journey of growth and discovery for your child.
 
Inspired by Ephesians 4:22-24, which calls us to put off our old self, be renewed in the spirit of our minds, and put on our new self, I am gifted in fostering a love for learning that propels children toward self-confidence, self-advocacy, and success in all life’s arenas. My goal is to equip your child with tools they need to fulfill their divine purpose.

I am not a homework helper. As a prophetic teacher, I delve deep to find your child’s academic gaps and use engaging, personalized teachings to address these areas and move them forward. I am also not merely a tutor but a bond of peace, an extra team player standing in the gap for your child. 
By being the glue, I am not just helping build a bridge from the past to the future, but also connecting your child to you, their teachers, their school system, and their real selves. My ultimate aim is for your child to love learning, appreciate their family and school more, and know their true identity. I specialize in teaching Reading, Writing, and Math. At the heart of my approach is a firm faith foundation, where prayer and scripture serve as the root of educational excellence, guiding your child to approach learning with confidence and purpose. This strong spiritual grounding is the core of success. To promote self-advocacy and make online learning organized and engaging, I use tools like visual timers and a unique progress board. I also encourage students to select the order of activities, incorporate movement, and teach through real-world challenges to enhance enjoyment and tailor the learning experience for all types of learners.
